The CCX is a celebration of Koenigsegg’s ten years of production and is the latest iteration of the Koenigsegg CC family. The CCX features a completely new set of body and interior parts over its predecessor the CCR. The main body of the 1,108kg production CCX is made from carbon-fibre with lightweight sandwich reinforcement.
The body incorporates a new front bumper design which comprises redesigned front headlamps to suit the new bumper line. The rear clamshell now features a glass window over the CCX engine, clearly showing off the unique and bespoke Koenigsegg block casting. A key feature is the removable carbon-fibre roof panel which stows neatly in the front luggage compartment.
The CCX is powered by a Koenigsegg designed and assembled, all aluminium, 4.7 litre 32-valve V8 engine fitted with two Rotrex superchargers. The engine produces an astonishing 806 bhp and 678 lb of torque. The performance figures of the CCX set it apart from anything else on the roads with acceleration of 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.2 seconds, a standing quarter mile time of 9.9 seconds and a top speed in excess of 245 mph (400 km/h).
Every piece of trim, every switch and every dial is specially made for the car, which adds to the bespoke ambience of the interior. In fact over 80% of the car is produced in-house by Koenigsegg designers and engineers.
The Koenigsegg has been designed as a durable and reliable supercar built to exacting specifications. As Christian von Koenigsegg the company founder has said of the CCX “Even though the car is light, everything is over-engineered”. He goes on to explain “A Koenigsegg owner should have a totally satisfactory ownership experience, even if they use their cars hard on the track.”
