The Spyker C8 Aileron is the second generation of the Spyker C-line series cars. The C8 Aileron continues Spyker’s signature architecture of a mid-engined configuration in an aluminium space frame, clad in aluminium body panels. The wheelbase has increased by 10 cm for improved road handling and more cabin space.
Spyker’s design philosophy can be seen in the C8 Aileron in the creation of a timeless design, one that is both contemporary but also classic.
The headlamp units have been designed to follow the lines of the body more closely and LED lights are incorporated for the indicators in addition to Xenon lights as standard.
The unique glass canopy inspired by jet design, first introduced on the C8 Laviolette, has been extended backwards, reducing drag and increasing cabin headroom. The signature air inlet atop the cabin remains.
The Aileron will continue to use the extraordinary 4.2 litre V8 which produces in excess of 400 BHP. This state-of-the-art engine is now mated to a choice of either a 6-speed Getrag manual or a 6 speed automatic ZF gearbox. This is the first time a Spyker is available with an automatic gearbox as standard.
The Aileron’s suspension was developed from scratch and has double wishbones both front and rear with shock absorbers placed vertically within the wishbones.
Brakes are supplied by AP Racing with the option of carbon ceramic brakes.
The interior is clad in the highest quality leather available. The Dutch Tannery of Hulshof provides the six hides used for the Aileron interior in a choice of 14 different colours. Bespoke leather colour options are available as an option.
Every Aileron will be equipped with a premium Kharma sound system, incorporating a GPS satellite navigation system, Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity, CD player and an I-pod jack.
The Aileron is available in 14 standard colours but as an option customers may elect to have the car painted any colour they wish. The Spyker Squadron GT2 racing colour scheme is also available as an option.
