The very first time you see a Spyker C8's door swing skyward and you step over the wide sill before sitting in the supportive leather bucket seats replete with racing-style four-point harnesses, you know you are about to experience something uniquely special.
The Spyker C8 Spyder is an elegant two-seat convertible sports car with an advanced mid-engined, rear-wheel drive layout. The car is characterised by lightweight construction and purity of design, with an uncompromising engineering package developed from scratch.
The C8 Spyder's curvaceous exterior is understated yet undeniably stylish and looks like no other. Performance is enhanced by its lightweight aluminium space frame which was designed from the outset as an open-top roadster: the result is exceptional levels of structural solidity. In fact the structural integrity of the chassis is so high that no extra reinforcement around the windscreen is necessary, making for a unique frameless look that further enhances the open top driving experience.
The Spyker C8 Spyder has exceptional performance thanks to an all aluminium Audi derived V8 engine with 400 bhp, a top speed of 187 mph (300 km/h) and acceleration of 0-62 mph in 4.5 sec (0-100 km/h in 4.5 sec). The car has a manual six-speed gearbox, rear wheel drive with limited slip differential and ABS.
Spykers are set apart by their exquisite finishing touches and attention to detail and the C8 Spyder is no exception. It features a turned aluminium dashboard fascia, dashboard instruments designed by the renowned German watchmaker Chronoswiss and is fitted with elegant 19”Aeroblade propeller wheels in magnesium that reflect Spyker’s aviation heritage.
Luxury and performance are further encapsulated in a number of interior features such as the tasteful incorporation of aluminium design elements as well as the exclusive leather trim. Owners may order every conceivable body colour to their own taste as well as leather to match.
Spyker’s racing pedigree is reflected by the Spyker C8 Spyder GT2R, the race version of the C8 Spyder that has been entered in the Le Mans Endurance Race Series, the 12-hours of Sebring and the 24-hours of Le Mans.
The C8 Spyder was voted ‘Best New Exotic Car 2006’ by duPont Registry’s prestigious car magazine Exotic Car Buyers Guide, chosen from more than 100 cars. The car was also chosen by the luxury lifestyle magazine Robb Report for its Ultimate Gift Guide which features 21 extraordinary and ultimate gifts.
There are an unlimited number of options available to owners reflecting the uniqueness and bespoke built nature of Spyker motorcars, the only limit is your imagination.
Like all Spykers the the C8 Spyder is completely hand-built by only the best craftsmen using bespoke materials. This spectacular performance car combines state of the art technology, unique design features and engineering excellence.
